The New Facebook Fan Page Features

Table of Contents

FB’s fan pages are getting an updated layout and several new features to help you engage with your fans. Here’s some of what you’ll be getting:
    Email notifications

Finally, you don’t have to miss out on important posts or frequently check your fan page in order to interact timely with your fans. Facebook now enables you to instantly receive notifications when fans post or comments on your page or posts. This feature also allows you to comment back immediately by simply replying to the notification you received.

Like and post on other pages

You have the option to expand your connections with more people by liking other pages that relate to your pages. After liking pages, you can easily “like” and post on their pages as your page.

    News Feed

This feature automatically updates you with stories from pages you’ve liked through your newsfeed for your page. Once you have upgraded to the new Facebook look, you can activate this feature together with all the above options.

    Latest photo display

Photos you most recently posted to your wall will be showcased at the top of your page. In case you don’t want to display a photo, just move your cursor over it and click “x”.

    Ease of Navigation

Tabs on the upgraded fan pages are positioned under the profile picture on the left column where most people expect them to be.

All pages will be automatically upgraded by March 10. But if you don’t want to wait until then to enjoy Facebook’s new upgrades, log in to your page and you’ll be given the option to preview or upgrade now. Once you have switched to the new version, however, you will not be able to turn it back to the old one.

Ok, a few problems… info is kinda buried. There used to be a little area where you had a blurb below the profile pic. I had a clickable link to my website. Gone. 🙁 And as a visual artist, I liked the PHOTOS tab at the top… where all my paintings are stored. Now they have to find an itty bitty link below my profile pic where also there is an itty bitty link for info with my website buried there. SO, I changed my profile pic. Not clickable but it’s better than nothing… I do like some of the changes tho… just not those…!/pages/AEM-Gallery/351557115631
